Spark Interactive was founded by the merger of CMC Media and Inroads Technology with a mission to provide a web and mobile platform that enables organizations and groups of all kinds to rapidly launch a community driven online presence designed to either replace or augment their existing website.
The Spark Igniter platform empowers a community by providing easy access to both personal and group spaces in which to promote and share ideas and to network with peers all while in a topic or "vertical" specific online environment. Vertical social networks like this provide a much higher level of engagement than other friend networks as members are free to interact with like minded people and not worry about how friends in other circles might react to their musings and actions.
Community interaction is nurtured and encouraged through gamification in which members earn points for a wide variety actions starting with personalizing their profile space and continues while making friends, commenting in spaces, watching shows in the broadcast center, blogging and though sharing through other networks like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. Like an airline frequent flyer program, points can be used for upgrades or to make purchases in the community store.
The Spark platform delivers an inviting environment in which to discover topical content though its Odyssey browser. Odyssey supports visualization of mixed content types in an endless scrolling mosaic based on the member's selection of tags, search and current context.
