Web Developer - Javascript, jQuery
If you work regularly with Javascript while building websites and use jQuery as part of your regular routine, Spark Interactive wants you to join us. Our engineering team is working with leading-edge (sometimes bleeding-edge) tools to create new ways for people to watch TV and other live broadcasts online in a social environment. You'll be on the ground floor as this product goes to market and will share in the equity of its success.
Requirements:
- You must be capable of working in an agile team environment where developer pairs deploy a project while also being able to take ideas and run with them alone.
- You also need to be versatile enough to pick up existing code.
- You will be asked to show some of your work during an interview so please come prepared.
Extremely Proficient in all of these:
- Programming Language: JavaScript (especially jQuery library) and AJAX
- Style: Strong OO Skills including MVC, CSS
- Database: MySQL, Complex Stored Procedures
You should also be knowledgeable of the following:
- Web 2.0 concepts
- Social networking
- Online video, network TV
- Mobile apps
Some nice to haves would be great too:
- Experience with version control tools - Subversion, Perforce, AccuRev
- Experience with Joomla especially component development
- OS Server level experience with Linux
